The Hiawatha Parks and Recreation department seeks to support and promote diversity and inclusiveness through the provision of a wide variety of high quality leisure programs and services that aim to serve the recreational needs of the community in an enjoyable, healthy and safe environment. The Hiawatha Parks and Recreation Department overseas the maintenance and general improvements of the parks in our community. Hiawatha parks include Guthridge Park located on Emmons Street between 7th and 10th Avenue across from theHiawatha Elementary School, Tucker Park located on B Avenue and Fay M. Clark Memorial Park located off N. 18th Avenue. There are a variety of recreational programs and special events to meet the community’s needs.
