The following report is the Comprehensive Park and Recreation Plan for the City of Hiawatha. The purpose of the plan is to provide general policy direction regarding park and open space planning and maintenance to satisfy the recreational needs of current and future residents, and to protect and enhance the underlying and sustaining natural resource base of the community. The Plan is also intended to be a support document and component of the City of Hiawatha Comprehensive Development Plan. This plan along with the City’s other long-range plans and development-related ordinances, will be used to implement the City’s park program.
