Water System Supervisor

The City of Hiawatha is accepting applications for a full-time Water System Supervisor position. Individual will be responsible for working as part of a team, operating a variety of equipment and machinery and performing a wide range of tasks related to safe and effective operations of City Water Treatment and Distribution system. Must have three years supervisory experience and have and maintain a Grade II Water Treatment and Water Distribution Certification. On-call, after hours and weekend work will be required. Pre-employment physical, drug test, valid Class B CDL with air brake endorsement and references required. Must be 18 to apply. Starting rate of pay is $26.99 per hour with excellent benefits. Seasonal Parks Maintenance Positions Available

The City of Hiawatha is accepting applications for three Seasonal Parks Maintenance positions. The Seasonal Parks Maintenance positions are responsible for performing a wide variety of activities related to the city parks and other city facilities. The City is looking for self motivated individuals with good communication skills, ability to follow instructions, operate construction equipment, complete minor repairs; includes mowing, trimming and weeding. Other responsibilities include cleaning restrooms and emptying trash after park and community center rentals. Weekend work may be required. Any combination of education and experience providing the required skills is beneficial. Pre-employment physical and a valid driver’s license required. Must be 18 to apply. Part-Time Fire Medic

Job Summary:

Protects life and property by performing emergency medical service, fire fighting, hazardous materials, fire prevention, education, and training duties. Operates and maintains fire and EMS equipment, apparatus, and facilities.

Employment Status:

Part Time 16 - 30 hours a week.

Specific Qualifications:

Three years experience in the fire service with transport EMS experience. Certification as Paramedic Specialist, Firefighter 1, and related training. Possession of valid Iowa driver's license.

Emphasis on this position is the delivery of Advanced Life Support EMS, however, applicant must have the ability to function as a firefighter, including performing interior operations wearing an PPE and SCBA, and the driving and operating of various fire apparatus.

Candidates are required to complete pre-employment, post offer physical, drug screen, and background check.
