We ask our community to be patient as we all work to vaccinate as many individuals as possible given the vaccine availability. Linn County Public Health works with providers to allocate vaccine, but does not oversee their appointment process. Local vaccine providers have their own process for contacting patients and making vaccine appointments, when vaccine is available. The state&#8217;s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/coronavirus.iowa.gov\/pages\/vaccineinformation#VaccineProviders\">COVID-19 Vaccine Provider Information Dashboard<\/a>, and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/vaccinate.iowa.gov\/\">Vaccinate Iowa<\/a>, is updated as new information becomes available.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"subhead2\"><strong>I Need Help Finding or Scheduling an Appointment \u00a0<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>View Linn County Public Health&#8217;s &#8220;COVID-19 Vaccine Appointments for Adults 65+ in Linn County&#8221;<em>\u00a0<\/em>infographic<em>,\u00a0<\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.linncounty-ia.gov\/DocumentCenter\/View\/15537\/Vaccine-Distribution-65-Plus\"><strong>HERE<\/strong><\/a>.\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Area Agencies on Aging can assist with connecting older adults to vaccine providers and transportation services. Please call (866) 468-7887 for assistance.<\/li>\n<li>Iowans can now call 211 for help from a vaccine navigator with scheduling an appointment for vaccine and transportation needs.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Frequently check your healthcare provider&#8217;s website<\/strong>\u00a0for information and instructions for scheduling appointments.\u00a0<strong>If you do not have a primary care provider<\/strong>, Linn County Public Health can help. This includes by mail, phone, text, email, or messaging such as\u00a0<em>MyChart<\/em>\u00a0to offer appointments. In Iowa, the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/vaccines\/covid-19\/retail-pharmacy-program\/index.html\">Retail Pharmacy Program<\/a>\u00a0also\u00a0started the week of February 8, 2021. Additional pharmacies will be added at a later date.\u00a0While many of our residents may now be eligible to receive vaccine, many will not be contacted right away from their provider to schedule an appointment or \u2013 depending on the provider &#8211; be able to sign up online for an appointment time. Not all providers have vaccine to offer, and those that do have very limited amounts.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Appointments are required, and fill quickly, due to limited amounts of vaccine available.<\/li>\n<li>More appointments will open as vaccine supplies increase.<\/li>\n<li>Providers are asking patients not to call or walk-in to clinics or pharmacies to request vaccine at this time. A high volume of calls makes it more difficult to address patients with immediate needs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 class=\"subhead2\"><strong>Clark&#8217;s Pharmacy<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Community members may visit\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.clarksrxcr.com\/\">www.clarksrxcr.com<\/a>\u00a0to add their name to the Clark&#8217;s Pharmacy COVID-19 Vaccine Waitlist. An email is not required for submitting your contact information, but a phone number is.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 class=\"subhead2\"><strong>CVS Pharmacy (Select Locations)\u00a0<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Adults 65 and older are eligible to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cvs.com\/immunizations\/covid-19-vaccine\">schedule an appointment<\/a>\u00a0at CVS as vaccine supply allows.
