The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the proposed widening improvements to I-380 from Iowa 100 to County Home Road, <strong>including a new proposed interchange at Tower Terrace Road and reconstruction of the Boyson Road Interchange.<\/strong> The purpose of this study is to accommodate increased travel demands in the I-380 corridor.<a href=\"http:\/\/www.hiawatha-iowa.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/Open-House.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-large wp-image-337\" src=\"http:\/\/www.hiawatha-iowa.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/Open-House-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"Open House\" width=\"840\" height=\"473\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.hiawatha-iowa.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/Open-House-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.hiawatha-iowa.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/Open-House-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.hiawatha-iowa.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/Open-House-768x432.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.hiawatha-iowa.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/Open-House-1200x675.jpg 1200w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 709px) 85vw, (max-width: 909px) 67vw, (max-width: 1362px) 62vw, 840px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The study area of I-380 is approximately five miles in length which is currently a 4-lane dedicated highway within the city limits of Cedar Rapids and Hiawatha. The IDOT has worked with local agencies on a feasibility study to evaluate potential solutions for corridor improvements that are expected to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Accommodate future growth of traffic<\/li>\n<li>Improve traffic operations at ramps on I-380<\/li>\n<li>Address geometric deficiencies<\/li>\n<li>Support planned economic development and land uses<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Over 100 interested residents attended the meeting and were\u00a0 able to share their ideas concerning the proposed improvements.
