Exit Ramp at Northbound I-380 and Boyson Road (Exit 25) near Hiawatha to be closed overnight October 19, 2017

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – Oct. 18, 2017 – A construction project to widen the exit ramp to Boyson Road (exit 25) from northbound Interstate 380 in Hiawatha is now complete. The contractor will remove the temporary barrier rail sections used to separate the work area and traffic lane, which requires closing the exit ramp to traffic from 11 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 19, until to 5 a.m. Friday, Oct. 20, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s Cedar Rapids construction office.

During this short closure, traffic should take Collins Road (exit 24A). Motorists are encouraged to find alternate routes to avoid delays.

The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
