The History Commission has been compiling pictures and news articles and conducting interviews of individuals that have ties to Hiawatha and are familiar with the history of this great city since 2007. As you can imagine, the collection of historic artifacts has grown significantly over the last eight years.
So what does the History Commission do with all the pictures, articles and interview recordings they compile? Well, the History Commission partnered with Metro Studios of Hiawatha to create a video collection of the oral interviews including pictures to share memoirs of Hiawatha with history enthusiasts all over the world.

This advisory board was established in 2016 as part of the City of Hiawatha’s MS4 permit from the State of Iowa. This permit is issued to jurisdictions giving authority and responsibility to manage their storm water discharges in accordance with Federal and State rules.
One important aspect of the MS4 Permit is citizen involvement. Hiawatha has established the Citizen Advisory board to complete this portion of the permit. This Board will focus on:
