Hiawatha City Council passed the following RESOLUTION #18-095 on June 6, 2018:
RESOLUTION ANIMAL PROTECTION AND CONTROL IN REFERENCE TO FERAL/STRAY CAT POPULATION
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HIAWATHA, IOWA, directing city staff to not proceed with fines for a period of three years in relation to city ordinance code Chapter 55 Animal Protection and Control; allow residents to Trap/Neuter/Release (TNR) Feral/Stray Cats while others who trap Feral/Stray Cats can continue to contact the Cedar Valley Humane Society.
