10th Avenue Construction Update

Eisenhower Road from 10th Avenue west 200 feet will be closed for utility work and street improvements. 10th Avenue from Emmons Street to Blairs Ferry Road will be reduced to local traffic only.

HIAWATHA, IA – September 1, 2022 – Starting Tuesday, September 6, 2022, Eisenhower Road will be closed from 10th Avenue west 200 feet in front of the Fire Station. Residents on Eisenhower will need to park west of the construction limits in the street or in the public parking found east of 10th Avenue.

In addition, 10th Avenue will have staggered construction barricades up to allow for local traffic only. Residents along 10th Avenue will have full access to their driveways while street patching occurs throughout this corridor. The westbound left turn lane on Blairs Ferry Road will be blocked to minimize thru traffic on 10th Avenue. After all street patching and sidewalk curb ramps have been completed, 10th Avenue will be closed for two days to allow for asphalt pavement. Residents will be notified in advance of the full closure.

Local and thru traffic should expect delays. Please try to avoid the areas during construction. All work is anticipated to last through the month of September.
