The City of Hiawatha Parks and Recreation Department has announced that Guthridge Park (704 Emmons St.) will be closed to general park use starting Friday evening, November 6, through Sunday evening, November 8, 2026, to host the inaugural ArchMaker CX Cyclocross Race.
The closure encompasses all general park amenities—including playgrounds, shelters, walking paths, and open turf areas—to ensure the safety of participants, spectators, and crew as the grounds transform into a dedicated, multi-terrain cycling circuit. The park will reopen for normal public recreational activities on Monday morning, November 9.
Presented in partnership by Hiawatha Parks and Recreation and the Corridor Devo Junior Cycling Team, ArchMaker CX is Eastern Iowa’s premier two-day cyclocross event. While general park recreation is suspended, the public is invited and encouraged to attend as spectators free of charge.
