The Hiawatha Sidewalk Improvement Project 2020 will start Monday August 31, 2020. This project includes sidewalk and ADA ramp removal and replacement in 4 locations:
- Removal of existing sidewalk and construction of 10′ wide multiuse trail on the south side of Boyson Road from 18th Avenue to Edgewood Road
- 8′ wide sidewalk internal to Guthridge Park Ball Fields
- Pedestrian ramp replacements on Emmons Street between 15th Avenue to Sandy Ridge Court
- 10’ wide multiuse trail connection to Thiher Drive
HIAWATHA, IA – Wednesday August 26, 2020 – The Hiawatha Sidewalk Improvement Project 2020 will start Monday August 31. The contractor will start on the Boyson Road phase of the project between 18th Avenue and Edgewood Road. Lane closures will be necessary on the south side of Boyson Road in order to allow room for equipment. No roadway closures are proposed. Anticipate delays and use caution when driving in construction zones.
Work is anticipated to be completed in approximately 8 weeks.
