Hiawatha Kids League receives Claude Ahrens Service Club Award

Iowa Parks and Recreation Association recently awarded Hiawatha Kids League with the 2022 Claude Ahrens Service Club Award.

The Claude Ahrens Service Club Award recognizes an organization who has contributed to the strengthening of programs and resources in leisure services. Hiawatha Kids League offers recreational baseball and softball to children and teenagers from Hiawatha and surrounding communities regardless of their skill, background, race, sex or financial status. They often partner with City of Hiawatha Parks and Recreation to improve amenities at Guthridge Park and the  park and community overall. Board members spend countless hours organizing budgets, rosters, equipment, fields and grounds, schedules, volunteers, uniforms, website and more. Hiawatha Kids League provides a positive, nurturing and safe environment in which our youth can learn an appreciation for sportsmanship, self-esteem, pride and integrity.

Congratulations, Hiawatha Kids League, for receiving the 2022 Claude Ahrens Service Club Award!
