State law requires cities to hold two public hearings and adopt a resolution establishing the total maximum property tax levy and adopt a resolution adopting the FY 2023 proposed budget.
The City of Hiawatha will set a public hearing date for March 2, 2022 at 5:30 PM on the FY 2023 proposed levy on Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at 5:30 p.m.
At the public hearing on March 2, 2022 any resident or taxpayer may present objections to, or arguments in favor of the proposed tax levy. After adoption of the proposed tax levy, the City Council will publish notice and hold a hearing on the proposed City budget.
