On September 7, 2022, Hiawatha City Council adopted Ordinance 981 which amended Hiawatha Code or Ordinances Chapter 75 All-Terrain Vehicles, Snowmobiles, and Utility Terrain Vehicles.
UTVs are now permitted on certain city streets. UTV operators must comply with the regulations listed in the ordinance and must ensure that their UTV is properly equipped according to the ordinance. A map and summary of the ordinance are provided below.
