All City Facilities Are Closed To The Public – Starting March 19, 2020

The City of Hiawatha values the health and safety of our community and of our Hiawatha staff. In response to the latest information from the Iowa Department of Public Health and Linn County Public Health, all city facilities are closed to the public starting March 19, 2020 until April 12, 2020, with further extensions possible. City Staff is available by phone to assist citizens with any questions they may have, along with navigating through online portals for bill payment and/or permitting. Staff will take appointments for essential business by calling 319-393-1515 and then dialing “0”.

City council meetings will be conducted electronically through an electronic format until further notice. City council meetings will be open to the public following the guidelines provided by the CDC and the State of Iowa Proclamation of Disaster Emergency signed on March 17, 2020. The proceedings will be broadcasted live on the City’s YouTube channel as usual and rebroadcasted on the City of Hiawatha’s website under the Mayor and City Council page, on the right hand side titled City Council Meeting Videos.
