Splash Pads Opening by June 19th, 2020

The Hiawatha Parks and Recreation Department has begun to open splash pads in Tucker and Guthridge Park. Both splash pads are anticipated to be open and working by Friday, June 19. The sensors on the fire hydrants, along with the benches will be sanitized daily. All other play pieces on the splash pads will not be disinfected, and as a reminder, the water is not chlorinated. Both pads will be power washed each morning before opening. Patrons are asked to use at their own discretion. Splash pads will operate 10:00 a.m. each day, and turn off at 8:00 p.m.. This will allow staff to clean accordingly.
